The C Word

the C word. it's so vial. disgusting actually. but it's become so common that we hear it and don't even think twice. 

CANCER. it affects so many lives, but you never think it will affect yours, until it does. these last few months have felt surreal as that nasty c word has flooded the lives of some of the strongest, most beautiful women i know. a family-friend and mother of three. a caring, soon to be mom I was lucky enough to meet in college. the sweetest, most badass coworker ever. and as of two weeks ago... my best friend. the strongest, kindest, most selfless person i know. my mom.

tomorrow she begins treatment for her unstageable esophageal cancer. but if there's anyone out there who can kick cancer's ass and do with plenty of humor and grace, it's terbear 🐻. soooo many people are so deserving of prayers today, but i ask that you throw in a little extra one for her. she's the reason i am who i am. and she's the reason i'm going to keep living this life as fully (and as beautifully) as i can.
