Who Am I Now?

the thing that no one tells you when you loose a loved one is that it will change who you are at your core. you will no longer recognize yourself and when you look back at the person you used to be, you will see a stranger in your place.

a loss of that magnitude rearranges everything about your “pre-grief” self – the self that couldn’t comprehend death who now knows it intimately. there’s no going back from that. there’s no unbecoming.

grief has changed me.

who am I now?

i still have no idea. but i’m trying like hell to figure it out.
